About The Position

Verifies receipt of and performs a damage inspection on new vehicles delivered to the dealership. Parks vehicles in the new-vehicle lot in an orderly manner. Essential duties include comparing serial numbers of incoming cars against invoices, inspecting vehicles for damage and missing accessories, recording damages and missing items, parking new vehicles in assigned areas, cataloging and storing keys, assigning stock control numbers to cars, moving sold vehicles to maximize space and keep the lot in order, delivering sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department, servicing vehicles in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration, and assisting the Service department with moving cars for customers. The role also requires reporting any safety or integrity issues to management, complying with company policies, completing HR training and certification courses, maintaining a valid driver's license, and upholding a professional appearance.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Compares serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice.
Inspects vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice.
Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt.
Parks new vehicles in assigned areas.
Catalogs and stores keys.
Assigns stock control numbers to cars.
Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order.
Delivers sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department.
Services vehicles in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration.
Help Service department with moving cars for customers to and from storage.
Immediately report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.
Comply with all company policies as required.
Complete all required HR training videos.
Complete all required certification courses respective to position.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and immediately inform management of any changes in its status.
Maintain a professional appearance.
