About The Position

This is a full-time contractor role focused on sales within a legal context. The Sales Paralegal will engage with clients, manage the sales process from lead to closure, build and maintain strong client relationships, and report on sales activities. The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with a willingness to adapt to a dynamic schedule and travel as needed. A key aspect of this role involves understanding and adhering to strict non-attorney limitations, ensuring all legal advice is provided by licensed attorneys and escalating client queries appropriately. The position operates within a collaborative, mission-driven, fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

  • Proven sales track record is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Prior experience in customer service or sales support is needed.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
  • Computer: Intel i5 (8th Gen+) or AMD Ryzen 5 (3000+), or Mac M1+. Min. 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD.
  • OS: Windows 11 or macOS.
  • Monitors: Two screens required.
  • Headset: USB wired or wireless.
  • Internet: Wired connection, at least 20 Mbps.
  • Maintain an average monthly QA score of 85% or higher on evaluated inbound/outbound calls.
  • Convert at least 40% of all qualified, assigned leads into booked attorney consultations each month.
  • Maintain a monthly DNQ rate of 12% or lower.
  • Strictly adhere to non-attorney limitations and escalate matters to a licensed attorney when appropriate.
  • Acknowledge in writing that they understand and agree to comply with restrictions on providing legal advice as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding clients' needs, building rapport, recommending appropriate products or services, and conducting presentations.
  • Managing the sales cycle from lead receipt to closure, including following up on leads, negotiating terms, and closing contracts.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with clients that ensure strong support, satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM software.
  • Effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and manage multiple client interactions within a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapting to a dynamic work schedule that may include occasional evenings, weekends, or travel to accommodate client needs or attend events.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships to ensure future sales.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support.
  • Communicate factual case status updates as directed by an attorney.
  • Collect documents and information from clients.
  • Assist in drafting forms and documents under attorney supervision.
  • Relay attorney-approved information to clients.
  • Schedule appointments and manage case files.
  • Provide government filing instructions that are procedural in nature (e.g., where to mail documents, required supporting documents as directed by an attorney).
  • Immediately escalate the matter to a licensed attorney if a client asks any legal question, asks whether they “qualify” or “should apply,” asks about risks, timelines with legal implications, or likelihood of success, or if the case involves criminal history, prior removal, unlawful presence, fraud/misrepresentation, prior denials, or complex facts.
  • Immediately escalate the matter to a licensed attorney if a client requests interpretation of a Request for Evidence (RFE), Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID), or other government notice, or expresses confusion about legal advice previously given.
  • Immediately escalate the matter to a licensed attorney in any situation where the staff member is unsure whether the response would constitute legal advice.
