About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, as well as floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role involves greeting and assisting customers, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and recommendations to support a pleasant, productive shopping experience. The employee also helps maintain merchandise, product knowledge, pricing, and signing, and follows company policies and procedures.

The position performs duties under general supervision using established procedures and occasional independent judgment. It may involve making recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition customer service and sales.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and support a productive shopping experience.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 paperwork is completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and throughout the retail store.
• Replenish merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
