About The Position

For more than three decades, the Virginia Lottery has worked to build a strong reputation, one synonymous with providing fun, entertaining experiences and doing so responsibly and with integrity. Proceeds from traditional Lottery games support K-12 public education in Virginia. Taxes generated by sports wagering and casino gaming, which are regulated by the Lottery, benefit other priorities of the Commonwealth. The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is currently seeking a part-time Sales Merchandiser to join its Sales Department in the areas of Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, Charles City, New Kent, Toano, Norge and Middle Peninsula.

Requirements

Must be able to work independently with low levels of supervision.
Possess strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and time management skills
Present a professional and engaging personality
Good math skills
On occasion, may be required to work a 12 hour day
Be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Use common household tools
Travel and weekend work required.
Willing to travel within a wide radius of the Winchester sales area.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of route sales
Knowledge of consumer package goods industry
Experience working in the convenience store, mass merchandiser and/or grocery environment
Route experience

Responsibilities

Supporting sales by filling and maintaining Lottery vending machines
Replacing and maintaining counter dispensers
Slotting new games during launch periods
Assisting in special projects and other various tasks as assigned
Assisting special distribution projects
Occasional weekend events
Work closely with the Area Manager and Sales Representatives to accomplish the sales and distribution goals of the sales area.
