About The Position

Neptune Fresh Produce Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Sales and Marketing Specialist to join their team in Richmond, BC. This dynamic role bridges field sales execution, strategic account management, and regional marketing initiatives. The specialist will drive growth within the Gordon Food Service (GFS) Business by collaborating with Business Development Specialists and the National Account Manager. Key responsibilities include communicating market updates (supply chain, weather, commodity), managing marketing collateral and sample processes, and overseeing key quarterly contracts. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Costing Analysis, and Production to ensure customer needs are met. Requirements

  • Must have 3 years of sales experience.
  • Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, challenging environment.
  • Must be a strategic thinker in order to build relationships, network, and link resources to plan and execute business practices and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic initiatives within the Gordon Food Service Western Divisions (GFS) channel by working with their Category and Merchandising teams to identify and capture new opportunities.
  • Support and execute targeted recovery and growth plans to expand volume and market share within the Gordon Food Service business.
  • Oversee and manage key monthly/quarterly contracts, ensuring pricing, item specifications, and customer requirements are accurately maintained and communicated.
  • Own the relationships with merchandising and category managers within the Western Markets.
  • Act as the market expert by translating agricultural data (weather impacts, regional growing transitions, fuel/freight spikes) into customer-facing Market Updates and presentation decks.
  • Align with sales leadership on upcoming marketing campaigns to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Maintain current product catalogs and oversee the end-to-end customer sample process, including sourcing and distribution of promotional items.
  • Maintain product data, images, and Fresh Start Foods content within the GFS ordering system.
  • Work daily with Production, Procurement Pricing analysis, and Food Safety teams to understand facility capabilities and constraints.
  • Leverage operational insights to ensure sales promises, marketing claims, and customer commitments align with operational capabilities and raw material conditions.
