About The Position

The purpose of this position is to manage and grow sales within assigned accounts and territories by executing company sales strategies, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role is responsible for disciplined opportunity management in Salesforce, including documenting sales activities, creating, and maintaining an accurate pipeline, and providing timely updates that support forecasting. The Sales Manager is expected to consistently generate leads, pursue qualified prospects, and provide ongoing training and coaching related to lead generation and sales effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Four-year college or university program certificate; or eight to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth working knowledge of sales methods, procedures and terminology is required.
  • Knowledge of business and industry is required.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, and to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge across Slide Fastener, Textile & Plastic, and Snap & Button product lines, including YKK field technical attaching equipment.
  • Manage sales activities for assigned territories and key accounts to achieve annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead sales forecasting efforts and establish performance targets to drive results.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, lead generation, and referrals.
  • Analyze market trends to assess customer needs, pricing strategies, and discount structures.
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships, serving as the primary contact for commercial matters and issue resolution.
  • Deliver customer presentations, product demonstrations, and tailored proposals that meet specific requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Operations, Quality, and Product teams to ensure effective order execution and high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sales activities in Salesforce; actively manage and advance pipeline opportunities.
  • Monitor pipeline health and contribute to forecasting by providing clear visibility on opportunity status, next steps, and expected close timing.
  • Track market and competitor activity, communicating key trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
  • Partner with R&D to support the development of prototype products.
  • Evaluate slow-moving or underperforming products and recommend actions to improve performance.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and association meetings.
  • Manage SG&A budgets and oversee sales-related expenditures.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales reports outlining volume, growth opportunities, and target account expansion.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Ensure full compliance with YKK’s policies, including Environmental, Quality, Health & Safety, and Confidential Information Management standards.
  • Manage 6 or more subordinate manager/supervisors and/or non-supervisory employees in the department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
