About The Position

Le Meridien / Element Salt Lake City is seeking a dynamic and driven Group Sales Manager to focus on securing Association group while driving new business opportunities. This role requires an entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset, a passion for developing meaningful client relationships, and a love for selling an experience unlike any other. Association and/or Marriott experience preferred.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hotel sales experience (preferably in group or association sales).
  • Strong new business development skills and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Experience selling to association groups.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and networking events as needed.
  • Highly organized with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Ability to provide and maintain a valid drivers license as the position may require the operation of motorized and electric vehicles.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Azul Hospitality, from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Upon employment, all staff is required to fully comply with Azul Hospitality rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities.
  • Staff members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, staff members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marriott experience preferred.
  • A passion for hospitality, prospecting and selling, with the ability to bring Hotel’s story to life for clients and help them envision their program at venue.
  • Bachelors degree and/or equivalent level of education.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, prospect, and secure association group plus banquets.
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets by driving group bookings, ensuring alignment with property and Azul Hospitality Group objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with association planners, travel agents, and third parties to position hotel as their premier hotel venue.
  • Develop compelling proposals and negotiate contracts that meet client needs while maximizing hotel revenue.
  • Work closely with the onsite operations team to ensure seamless group experiences, from planning through execution.
  • Leverage preferred partnerships within the Marriott brand to attract association business, while embodying Azul’s high-touch, service-focused approach.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor analysis, and evolving group travel dynamics to position Hotel as a top-tier destination.
  • Other tasks assigned by the direct manager or general manager.
