About The Position

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving group room revenue within assigned market segments. This role focuses on proactive solicitation, relationship management, and seamless execution of group business. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales and hotel operations to convert leads, service accounts, and deliver exceptional client and guest experiences aligned with Coast Hotels’ brand standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Strong understanding of group sales processes, contracts, and service standards.
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales tracking tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a sales team and hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned market segments and proactively solicit new group business.
  • Conduct proactive sales calls, site tours, and client entertainment to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Achieve a minimum of one signed group contract per week (or approximately 4–5 per month), adjusted for business mix and seasonality.
  • Respond to all sales leads and inquiries within 24 business hours.
  • Prepare and present group proposals, contracts, and follow-up communications to drive conversion.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry functions as assigned.
  • Coordinate and service all confirmed group events and meetings in collaboration with hotel operations.
  • Handle pre-arrival details, amenities, and internal communications to ensure smooth execution and high client satisfaction.
  • Prepare group resumes and ensure accurate distribution to internal departments.
  • Maintain complete and organized group and catering files.
  • Maintain accurate account, lead, and activity information in CRM systems.
  • Ensure CRM data accuracy, lead distribution, and sales pace reporting.
  • Forecast future bookings and contribute to weekly and monthly pace reports.
  • Assist with month-end sales reporting and tracking.
  • Provide administrative support to the sales team as needed.
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and sales inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Support marketing initiatives and office organization efforts.
  • Maintain social media engagement in alignment with Coast Hotels brand standards (all managers).
  • All team members are required to update the CRM daily with complete and accurate records of calls, site tours, solicitations, and client activity.
  • Weekly one on one meetings with the Director of Sales are required to review activity levels, event execution, and performance against goals.
  • Underperformance for two consecutive months will result in a formal performance review and the development of a structured improvement plan.
