About The Position

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue by promoting the hotel’s services, amenities, and facilities to prospective and existing clients. This role supports the hotel’s commitment to exceptional guest service while contributing to overall financial performance. The Sales Manager proactively develops business, nurtures client relationships, and collaborates with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of all booked events and group business.

Requirements

  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet or exceed revenue goals through phone outreach, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Respond to sales inquiries for guest rooms and meeting and event space.
  • Proactively identify prospects, qualify leads, and generate new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through hosting, entertaining, and consistent account management.
  • Conduct property tours and site inspections, presenting hotel offerings and addressing client questions.
  • Prepare proposals, determine rates, negotiate contracts, and service accounts to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare customer correspondence, internal booking reports, and maintain accurate files and documentation.
  • Participate in daily sales meetings, pre‑convention meetings, training sessions, and other required sales‑related activities.
  • Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and high‑quality customer experiences.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, community events, and industry meetings.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • Identify client needs and potential objections; present persuasive solutions to close business.
  • Negotiate rates and terms to maximize revenue while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Apply effective revenue and yield management strategies, including optimizing function space and targeted solicitation during low‑demand periods.
  • Consult with client representatives to plan event details such as attendance and space requirements; maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel offerings.
  • Maintain deep understanding of market position, pricing structures, booking trends, and future hotel planning.
  • Stay informed about competitive markets both within and outside the immediate area.
  • Develop creative marketing and sales techniques to attract and retain business.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, questions, and concerns.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs and business demands.
  • Analyze lost business to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure full participation in servicing accounts and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
