About The Position

Winnipeg Autoshow is hiring an Automotive Sales Manager. This is an active, hands-on sales manager role focused on leading the used vehicle sales team. The position involves being on the floor daily, desking deals, appraising trades, working the phones, and driving sales numbers. The role offers a unique opportunity to focus purely on used vehicles without new-car distractions, with inventory backed by the extensive 401 Group network. The compensation structure is designed for closing managers, with bonuses, spiffs, and accelerators tied to store and team performance. This role also involves setting up the business office for success by structuring deals cleanly and offers opportunities for growth within the 401 Group's 50+ locations. The company provides virtual sales training, inventory management tools, AI for efficiency, and a proven sales process.

Requirements

  • Proven closing experience with verifiable numbers (volume, gross, close rate, CSI).
  • Hands-on leadership style, leading from the floor.
  • Strong deal-structure instincts and comfort desking deals.
  • Strong used vehicle appraisal and inventory management experience.
  • Manitoba Sales Permit.
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills.
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence and clean driving abstract.
  • Strong CRM discipline and comfort with modern dealership technology.
  • A team player who raises the room, not managing by pressure or fear.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PBS (a dealership technology).

Responsibilities

  • Coach the team every day through walk-arounds, role-plays, one-on-ones, objection handling, and product knowledge development.
  • Desk deals, structuring every deal cleanly and profitably, and teaching reps how to build a good deal.
  • Close deals by stepping in to touch desk with sales reps, working save-a-deals, and demonstrating closing techniques.
  • Manage inventory by appraising trades accurately, keeping the lot turning, and ensuring the right units are stocked at the right price.
  • Work the CRM to manage the pipeline, follow up, hold the team accountable, and ensure no opportunity is missed.
  • Call customers for various purposes (sold, unsold, service-to-sales, be-backs) to lead from the front on the phones.
  • Own and track numbers including volume, gross, close rate, appointment set/show, and CSI, understanding daily performance.
  • Build a professional, high-energy, customer-first culture in the showroom.
