The National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing nationwide sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and achieve organizational objectives. This role involves identifying emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to inform sales strategies, and driving revenue growth through new customer acquisition, market expansion, and account development. The position also includes performing duties associated with business development, developing and pursuing business leads, determining client needs, and negotiating rates to maximize revenues. A key aspect is developing positive working relationships with existing clients by anticipating needs and acting promptly to rectify any problems, and practicing effective revenue/yield management. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the property and its offerings, maintaining accurate records of catering and reservations, and directing the Banquets & Catering Department. It also involves arranging attendance at industry trade shows, special functions, meetings with clients, and site visits to promote good will, ensuring meeting planner satisfaction, and preparing and sending Email Blasts. Communication property-wide about incoming groups, including resume meetings and special instructions, is essential, as is communication with Group Managers/Leaders on group pick-up/progress. The Sales Manager will welcome clients at the onset of events in meeting spaces and send welcome gifts to sleeping rooms on arrival, and represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
