About The Position

The Sales Manager is responsible for executing Walther Arms Inc. (WAI) sales strategies and business plans across the Dealer and Buying Group channels. This role drives revenue growth, strengthens customer relationships, and expands market share within the shooting sports industry. The Sales Manager will lead account development, identify new business opportunities, and manage key customer relationships while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4+ years of sales experience.
  • Strong background in the firearms or shooting sports industry required.
  • Experience in retail programming, including planning, execution, and optimization of in-store or omnichannel initiatives that drive sales and brand visibility.
  • Strong understanding of retail channel operations, including the end-to-end flow of product from manufacturing to shelf, merchandising strategies, and the dynamics between retailers, distributors, and factories.
  • In-depth knowledge of firearms, shooting sports market, and dealer networks.
  • Strong understanding of Walther Arms products (or ability to quickly develop expertise).
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Execute WAI sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, growth objectives, and market expansion.
  • Develop and implement channel-specific sales plans for Dealer and Buying Group accounts.
  • Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies to meet or exceed goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key dealers, buying groups, and industry partners.
  • Lead the development of account plans, forecasts, and revenue goals for assigned accounts and channels, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage and grow the Walther Preimum Dealer Program through consistent engagement and support.
  • Conduct regular outreach (calls, visits, events) to strengthen partnerships and drive sell-through.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Expand distribution and market presence through strategic partnerships.
  • Represent WAI at trade shows, consumer events, and industry functions.
  • Develop and deliver product training materials for dealers, sales reps, and partners.
  • Support in-store events, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Ensure sales teams and partners are well-versed in WAI product offerings.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop promotional, advertising, and branding initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Provide input on product allocations and order management to ensure timely delivery and service excellence.
  • Lead, motivate, train, and evaluate independent sales rep agencies.
  • Set performance goals and monitor rep agency effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching and strategic direction to maximize field performance.
  • Provide ongoing feedback on: Product performance and opportunities, Competitive landscape (pricing, promotions, product positioning), Dealer needs and market trends.
  • Support new product development insight based on field intelligence.
  • Must be willing and able to travel frequently (trade shows, dealer visits, events).
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and uphold company brand standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.
