About The Position

Blenders Eyewear is seeking a Sales Lead, also known as a Shade Captain, to join their team. This role is a part-time position based in Austin, TX, reporting to the Retail Store Manager. The Sales Lead will serve as a role model for the Shade Specialists, focusing on creating and maintaining a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate is passionate about coaching and developing others, training the team on customer engagement and delivering an unforgettable brand experience. The majority of the time will be spent on the sales floor, coaching and training the team in sales, customer service, and product knowledge, all while embodying the Blenders Eyewear vision. The company emphasizes a culture of "Blending Out" rather than blending in, encouraging passion, hard work, and a good time.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of retail sales leadership experience.
  • Open availability for a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the business, including evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours Monday through Sunday (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Support in new hire training, focusing on product knowledge and selling and service tools and techniques.
  • Provide training and in-the-moment coaching and feedback to encourage growth.
  • Continuously evolve and elevate the in-store customer experience in partnership with store leadership and brand partners.
  • Support with additional projects that build the employee experience.
  • Ensure the team is up to date on all training and service guidelines.
  • Positively communicate store and company policies and strategies.
  • Update the team on sales, KPIs, targets, and the status of goals on a regular basis.
  • Partner with Assistant Store Manager (ASM) and Store Manager (SM) to ensure smooth store operations and that everyone is working towards common goals.
  • Interact with customers on the retail floor, providing product knowledge and exceptional customer experience.
  • Open and close the store as required and provide leadership to the team.
