About The Position

Blenders Eyewear, founded in San Diego, designs stylish, performance-driven, and affordable Sun, Snow, and Prescription eyewear. The company mission is to craft gear for adventurous individuals who prefer to stand out. They are looking for a Retail Sales Lead, also known as a Shade Captain, to serve as a role model for Shade Specialists. This role involves creating and maintaining a high level of customer service, coaching and training the team on customer engagement and brand experience, and spending the majority of time on the sales floor. The Sales Lead will support new hire training, provide ongoing coaching, and work to elevate the in-store customer experience in partnership with leadership. They will also assist with projects that enhance the employee experience, ensure the team is up-to-date on guidelines, communicate policies and strategies, update the team on sales KPIs and goals, and partner with management for smooth store operations. Additionally, the role involves interacting with customers, providing product knowledge, and opening/closing the store as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of retail sales leadership experience
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to team members and customers
  • Outstanding oral and written communication
  • Self-motivated and enjoy problem solving
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • Must have open availability for a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the business, including evenings, holidays and weekend shifts.
  • Normal retail store hours are Monday through Sunday

Responsibilities

  • Support in new hire training, focusing on product knowledge and selling and service tools and techniques
  • Provide training and in-the-moment coaching and feedback to encourage growth
  • Continuously evolve and elevate the in-store customer experience, in partnership with the store leadership and brand partners
  • Support with additional projects that build the employee experience
  • Ensuring the team is up to date on all training and service guidelines
  • Positively communicating store and company policies and strategies
  • Update the team on sales, KPIs, targets, and the status of goals on a regular basis
  • Partner with ASM and SM to ensure there are smooth operations in the store and everyone is working towards common goals
  • Interacting with customers on the retail floor, providing product knowledge and exceptional customer experience to each individual
  • Opening and closing the store as required and providing leadership to the team
