About The Position

FORVIA is looking for a year-round Sales Intern for its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role supports the development of customer relationships, preparation of commercial offers, and management of contractual aspects within the automotive industry. The intern will gain experience in understanding costing, pricing, negotiation, and sales administration processes.

Requirements

Strong Microsoft pack office skills (especially Excel) and reporting skills.
Comfortable with financials.
Good communication and presentation skills, and capacity for empathy.
Business international mindset.

Good analytical skills and Accountability.

Responsibilities

Support the development of appropriate intimacy with the Customer contacts (Purchasing, Engineering, Programs) through regular visits, preparation, and minutes.
Build relationships with key staff in the client organization.
Monitor the level of customer satisfaction at regular intervals or after each significant step.
Help prepare commercial offers to answer customer requests on time.
Gain a good understanding of costing files.
Contribute to proposing and validating targeted pricing and negotiation paths/tactics.
Formalize the offer with appropriate wording.
Understand and apply guidelines regarding contractual management.
Help prepare and negotiate commercial answers to customer ECRs (“Engineering Changes Requests”).
Gain detailed understanding of piece price, tooling and D&D impact.
Follow the Variable Cost Margin of the products.
Prepare and follow commercial productivity proposals.
Understand and manage local economics (inflation, exchange rate).
Understand and rigorously implement Sales Administration guidelines & processes (purchase orders, invoices, terms of payment, overdues…)
Commercial management for Spare Parts and Prototypes.
