Lead, Sales Floor
About The Position
Chefs’ Toys (a TriMark Company) is seeking a Sales Floor Lead for their San Diego location. Since 1988, Chefs' Toys has been a successful provider of foodservice equipment & supplies with 6 retail stores across California, an eCommerce platform, and a large delivery & installation fleet. They pride themselves on treating everyone with respect and fostering a great working environment where hard work is rewarded. This full-time, in-office position requires a proactive and collaborative approach to drive successful transactions, resolve customer inquiries, and maintain a positive shopping experience. With 3-4 years of experience, you will lead by example, guide the team, and contribute to the continual improvement of their retail operations.
Requirements
- 3 - 4 years of experience in retail customer service and business-to-business sales, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
- Previous cashier and customer service experience is required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
Nice To Haves
- Foodservice industry experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and actively engage professional chefs, restaurant owners, and cooking enthusiasts with their purchases at the counter.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with vendors and customers to facilitate special orders.
- Take a leadership role in resolving complex customer complaints promptly and effectively.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Work independently and demonstrate initiative, setting a standard for the team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales and customer service processes.
- Bag purchases to ensure safe transport.
- Handle transactions, ensuring accuracy in prices and quantities, and provide receipts to every customer.
- Assist in balancing the cash register and generating reports for credit and debit sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance the shopping environment.
- Oversee the organization of merchandise displays and promotional materials.
- Actively engage with customers, build relationships, and occasionally visit them to strengthen connections.
