This position supports our Plymouth, MI branch location, serving customers throughout the greater Detroit, MI area. This role can be filled as either a Sales Executive (entry-level) or a Senior Sales Executive (mid-level) based on experience. The Security Systems Sales/Senior Sales Executive is dedicated to supporting the new construction business within the commercial Security Systems team. The team aims to achieve booking and profit goals by developing and implementing plans to grow, develop, and manage relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, and end-users. This involves capitalizing on sales opportunities within the territory and executing sophisticated deals independently within established guidelines. Sales Executives act as ambassadors for Siemens technology, products, and services, optimizing and facilitating safe, emergency-ready workplaces through customer interaction and expertise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Sales Executive (Entry-Level): Sales or experience in a customer-facing role in the commercial security systems, low-voltage systems, commercial building technologies, or related construction industries
  • Senior Sales Executive (Mid-Level): 3+ years of sales or technical experience in a customer-facing role such as Project Management within the commercial security systems, low-voltage systems, commercial building technologies, or related construction industries
  • Must be able to demonstrate financial expertise; estimating and selling technical solutions and service offerings effectively and independently
  • On-the-job experience in account development and strategic sales skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Achieve new order/booking and profit goals based on assigned quota.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified funnel of opportunities, including forecasting expected order intake and consistently delivering on forecasted results.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, competitor offerings, customers, and decision influencers across the region, segments, and verticals. Stay current on security market business and product trends.
  • Develop a vertical market and account management plan focused on strategic growth. Identify new business opportunities in new markets or adjacent segments and develop 'go to market' strategies to drive business to the end-user and the standard construction channel.
  • Act as a consultant to multiple levels of the customer's organization by understanding their challenges and recommending services to ensure their building systems perform as required to achieve business goals.
  • Attend industry-specific networking events and actively participate in professional organizations (e.g., ASHRAE, AEE, USGBC) to build contacts and represent Siemens.
  • Consult with customers to determine budgeting and investment requirements.
  • Position Siemens as an industry leader among service providers, leveraging its digital service delivery as a differentiator.
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Work with internal sales support to maximize time spent with customers.
  • Collaborate with sales estimators to prepare cost estimates and customer bid packages.
  • Partner with other sales business teams to plan, target, and acquire new projects and accounts.
  • Set pricing based on the identified value of services offered to the customer.
  • Work with operations, finance, legal, and other internal and external resources to secure sales.
  • Actively participate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on market, business, and product trends.
  • Spend a minimum of 50% of time in customer-facing activities, performed in person and on customer sites.
  • Work with the existing customer base to support their needs and act as a hunter to bring in new customers.
  • Travel overnight approximately 10% for training and business development as required based on the assigned territory.
