About The Position

The Sales & Event Specialist at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Phoenix-Mesa is responsible for driving the property’s business through proactive and reactive sales and marketing efforts to achieve revenue and service goals. This role assists the Director of Sales & Marketing in developing and implementing property-wide strategies to grow market share. The Specialist will help drive the client experience from inquiry to execution, work directly with decision-makers and leadership, and gain exposure to various group types including corporate, association, sports, and social groups.

Nice To Haves

  • CITY experience highly valued
  • Marriott experience in Sales, Catering, or Events (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with MARSHA, CI/TY, or other Marriott systems
  • Experience with Marriott Full-Service systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries using Marriott standards
  • Set up group blocks with efficiency and accuracy
  • Support account management and help drive group revenue
  • Create and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with precision
  • Coordinate directly with operations, catering, and A/V teams
  • Ensure seamless execution of meetings, events, and group stays
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients
  • Deliver elevated, intuitive service within the Marriott brand
  • Support site tours, pre-cons, and on-site event requests
