About The Position

RapidFire Safety & Security is a leading provider of fire, life safety, and physical security services. We are seeking a detail-oriented Sales estimator to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our Austin RapidFire team. The Sales Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for the installation of fire sprinkler systems. This position will analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product and or service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience fire sprinkler estimating.
  • Excellent Math / Computation skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills including phone correspondence, and in-person.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills (company proposal software, Adobe, Smart Draw and Microsoft Office tools).
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle complex situations with professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications or coursework in contract management is a plus.
  • Experience with Inside sales is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates for installation of fire sprinkler systems for retrofit and new construction projects or services.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Review Customers requests on products and materials to understand project bid.
  • A full understanding of RapidFire recommended products and what can be utilized to solve Customers’ requests.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors and or subcontractors.
  • Partner with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Review and process project change requests, acting as liaison between clients and the contractors regarding cost maintenance and changes.
  • Make customers aware of additional services available to them.
  • Support Branch Sales Team as needed.
