About The Position

Spectrum Painting in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey is hiring two full-time Sales Estimators to help drive business development across North Jersey. These roles are ideal for driven, people-oriented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by performance-based growth. The Sales Estimator is responsible for managing the end-to-end sales process — from prospecting to presenting estimates to closing deals. This role supports both residential and commercial markets and plays a vital part in representing Spectrum’s high-quality service with professionalism and integrity.

  • Self-motivated and persistent
  • 3+ years of sales experience (residential or B2B preferred)
  • Experience with a one- to two-call close process
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Fluent in English and authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Estimating experience and blueprint reading a plus, but not required
  • Trade/industry background is not required

Responsibilities

  • Attend scheduled estimates on time and in uniform
  • Provide clear, detailed quotes within 48 hours using company pricing systems
  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and communicate value
  • Maintain consistent follow-up until all open bids receive a final decision (yes or no)
  • Visit every sold job at least once to reinforce relationships and monitor quality
  • Ensure jobs stay “happy and under” by aligning expectations with production
  • Sell across verticals (painting, flooring, light carpentry) and adjust communication per customer type (residential/commercial)
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers through email, calls, and job visits
  • Promptly return all incoming calls (within 4 business hours)
  • Represent the company professionally with punctuality, presentation, and positivity
  • Coordinate project details with crew leaders, including job scope, materials, colors, and timeline
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Use CRM to track all leads, estimates, communication, and follow-ups
  • Analyze blueprints, plans, or scope documents where needed
  • Participate in networking groups and referral programs to generate new leads
  • Develop a personal prospecting plan to grow individual and company success
  • Attend all team meetings and training sessions
  • Collaborate with other departments and provide field insight for planning
  • Contribute to process improvement and strategic initiatives
  • Support and live out Spectrum’s culture and values
