About The Position

As a Sales Estimator, you’ll help turn customer needs and project plans into solutions that make sense technically and financially. From reviewing blueprints and specifications to calculating material, labor, and vendor costs, you’ll build accurate and competitive quotes that help move opportunities forward. You’ll work closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, design, and other teams to keep projects organized from the initial quote through shipment. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and seeing the details of a project come together, this is an opportunity to make an impact from the very beginning.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree with 1 to 2 years of sales experience and a mechanical background
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret construction or engineering blueprints, with CAD experience preferred
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail with the ability to develop accurate estimates and manage multiple project details
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external customer
  • Comfortable negotiating, solving problems, and working through challenges while keeping projects on schedule
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work within deadlines while maintaining accuracy and staying organized

  • CAD experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Turn customer requests, drawings, and specifications into accurate, competitive quotes that set projects up for success
  • Dig into blueprints and technical documents to understand project requirements, identify risks, and determine the right GFS solution
  • Keep projects moving by coordinating with sales, engineering, design, purchasing, scheduling, and shipping from sales entry through shipment
  • Stay on top of the details by maintaining accurate quotes, sales orders, change orders, project documents, and schedules
  • Think beyond the numbers by considering material costs, labor, vendor pricing, potential delays, and other factors that could impact profitability
  • Build strong relationships with sales teams, distributors, customers, and internal partners while providing responsive product and estimating support
  • Look for opportunities to improve value while balancing customer needs, project requirements, and business goals
  • Take ownership of the handoff, making sure awarded projects transition smoothly from the quoting process into execution
