About The Position

Global Power Components is seeking a detail-oriented Sales Estimator – Inside Sales professional to support the quoting and project execution process for custom manufacturing projects. This role works closely with the Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams to develop accurate cost estimates, prepare customer quotations, and help transition awarded projects into production. This position is ideal for candidates with 2–7 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, fabrication, or engineer-to-order (ETO) environments who enjoy technical problem-solving, organization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 2–7 years of experience in estimating, inside sales, manufacturing coordination, project support, or related technical roles.
  • Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment, or construction-related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cost estimating in a custom manufacturing or engineer-to-order environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Smartsheet, or project tracking software.
  • Exposure to metal fabrication, power systems, industrial equipment, or construction-related industries.
  • Technical or engineering-related educational background.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely sales quotations based on customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
  • Review RFQs, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation to develop labor, material, and manufacturing cost estimates.
  • Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to validate costing assumptions and production requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating project scope, manufacturing complexity, and lead-time considerations.
  • Support the Sales and Project Management teams in transitioning awarded projects into execution.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers regarding customer purchase orders, scheduling requirements, and project deliverables.
  • Help track quote revisions, customer changes, and project updates throughout the sales and production cycle.
  • Maintain organized documentation related to estimates, customer communications, and project records.
  • Develop familiarity with manufacturing workflows, fabrication processes, and custom industrial products.
  • Review blueprints and technical drawings to ensure quote accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Assist with secondary operational or administrative tasks that support the business and project teams.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with sales, engineering, production, and project management teams as needed.
