Sales Engineering Technician

About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing sales orders for accuracy and customizing them based on the application desired for the type of truck model purchased. Once the order is validated, this position will prepare the order for release to materials and operations by ensuring an accurate bill of material is generated and the truck components are placed on the chassis frame layout model that meets standard engineering specifications, customer requirements, and safety/compliance standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate technical data
  • Demonstrate high level of initiative and follow through
  • Strong desire to learn new roles and activities within department
  • Demonstrate and maintain high level of flexibility
  • Strong knowledge of heavy duty trucks is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking

Nice To Haves

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent experience in heavy equipment machinery or commercial vehicle equipment.
  • Two years of PACCAR experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex tasks
  • Familiarity of CICS system
  • Proficient with Windows systems

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes orders, identifies incompatible option content, and makes recommendations to dealers/customers
  • Coordinates with product engineers and dealers, as necessary, to resolve incompatibilities.
  • Provides technical guidance for changes during pilot inspections and feedback related to technical information.
  • Helps implement and coordinate new programs
  • Manage projects for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attendance is an essential function of all positions
