About The Position

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing commercial topics related to assigned customer accounts including Nissan (filtration), Mazda, Subaru, and Hyundai, focusing on filtration, air intake systems, air intake manifolds, carbon canisters, and oil coolers for the light vehicle industry. This role involves developing customer strategies to identify new business opportunities, positioning the company for success, and leading the execution of these strategies. The Sales Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact for all commercial discussions and negotiations, and will coordinate with Program Managers to address potential milestone misses and develop recovery plans, ensuring timely customer notification.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of product development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial topics related to assigned customer accounts (Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Hyundai) concerning filtration, air intake systems, air intake manifolds, carbon canisters, and oil coolers for the light vehicle industry.
  • Develop and execute customer strategies to identify new business opportunities and position the company to win new business.
  • Act as the focal point for all commercial discussions and negotiations.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers to establish 'get well' plans and notify customers in the event of potential missed milestones.
  • Manage the overall relationship between MAHLE North America and key automotive clients by cultivating relationships with stakeholders across sales and application engineering functions.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, new production pricing, warranty terms and conditions, and prototype prices.
  • Manage new projects quotation and negotiation, including price proposals and timeline negotiations with MAHLE Engineering Teams, R&D Groups, and Production operations in the USA and Mexico.
  • Drive the internal quote process, including PAC project approvals, initiation of SOF sales opportunities forms, and subsequent updates.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
