About The Position

The Sales Engineer provides expert advice to customers regarding equipment selection, focusing on positive displacement pumps, progressive cavity pumps, pneumatic valves, and power generation equipment. This role involves understanding engineering parameters like flow, viscosity, and pressure demands to select the correct equipment. The Sales Engineer also coordinates manufacturing deadlines, schedules testing, and communicates test capabilities to customers. They work closely with the engineering department to define requirements for specialty items and may be responsible for writing sales letters and proposals. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that ordered products meet customer specifications and manufacturing requirements through successful follow-through. The position also requires staying updated on industry developments through participation in meetings and training, and conducting customer visits to address field issues or confirm requirements.

Requirements

  • Three years manufacturing experience working with fluid handling and progressive displacement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Uses company knowledge to give proper advice to customer questions concerning equipment selection.
  • Provides applications assistance for positive displacement pumps, progressive cavity pumps, pneumatic valves and power generation equipment based on engineering parameters such as flow, viscosity and pressure demands.
  • Coordinates manufacturing deadlines to meet customer schedules.
  • Coordinates and schedules testing.
  • Informs customers on what types of tests and certifications can be provided.
  • Works with engineering department to determine engineering requirements for specialty items.
  • May be required to write sales letters and proposals.
  • Requires successful follow through to determine that correct products were ordered and when necessary, manufactured according to customer's requirements.
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field.
  • Conducts customer visits to determine field problems or to verify actual customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
