This specific role is for a Sales Engineer responsible for outside sales of custom automation, robotics, machining, and engineering solutions in the Southwest US territory (Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas). The ideal candidate can hit the ground running with some initial support and possesses skills and outside sales experience relevant to the job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Generating sales with new and existing customers, achieving profitability goals.
  • Communicating customer requirements to internal stakeholders for accurate quotes and successful project delivery.
  • Managing customer relationships and executing account management plans to build long-term relationships and earn repeat business.
  • Sharing information and best practices with peers and assisting with developing solutions.
  • Presenting proposals to customers and following up to move opportunities through the sales funnel and close new business.
  • Following up with customers post-project to handle inquiries and serve as a resource.
  • Developing and implementing account plans to identify and act on opportunities with current customers and expand Ahaus’ presence.
  • Qualifying customer needs, identifying and establishing working relationships with key influencers.
  • Partnering with independent manufacturing representatives, serving as a technical resource.
  • Hunting for new business development opportunities in customer segments that align to Ahaus’ sales plan.
  • Working closely with engineering and manufacturing to understand capacities, technical capabilities, and production scheduling.
  • Coordinating the flow of information between the customer and engineering for quote development.
  • Communicating initial project concepts and ensuring the customer’s scope of work is clearly understood.
  • Participating in project launch meetings and ensuring scope of work, specifications, and customer requirements are handed off to production.
  • Monitoring customer projects and assisting with resolving escalated issues.
  • Utilizing Salesforce customer relationship management software to report on the sales funnel, account plans, and opportunities.
  • Providing accounting purchase order details including scope of work, terms and conditions, and customer contact information.
  • Assisting with following up on past due accounts and collection of payment.
