About The Position

Beckhoff Automation is seeking a driven, technically fluent Sales Engineer to lead growth in Northern Los Angeles and the Central Coast. This role involves blending deep technical insight with consultative sales skills to deliver innovative automation solutions and forge lasting technology partnerships with customers. The Sales Engineer will own their territory, playing a critical role in executing territory strategy, developing new opportunities, and advancing Beckhoff’s vision of open automation. This is a high-impact position for a proactive, relationship-oriented professional excited to represent one of the most advanced technology platforms in the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with technical experience
  • 5+ years in a sales or customer-facing technical role preferred
  • Strong communicator with a customer-first, consultative approach
  • Proven success in technical sales, ideally in industrial automation
  • Ability to think strategically and execute with urgency
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
  • Must reside within the assigned territory

Responsibilities

  • Execute territory strategy by targeting new accounts and expanding key customer relationships
  • Translate customer challenges into compelling Beckhoff automation solutions
  • Expand existing accounts and secure new opportunities across OEMs, integrators, and end users
  • Maintain a strong pipeline, drive system opportunities to close, and exceed growth targets
  • Develop a strategic plan aligned with regional and national sales goals
  • Analyze CRM and market data to uncover new opportunities
  • Represent Beckhoff at customer meetings, regional events, and industry trade shows
  • Partner with local Application Engineers and Sales Coordinators to ensure customer success
  • Leverage Beckhoff’s product and industry experts to strengthen solution delivery
  • Share customer feedback and market insight to inform product development and strategy
  • Maintain pipeline accuracy and forecasting discipline in CRM
  • Support customer technical scoping, including BOM generation and solution proposals
  • Ensure timely, professional follow-up through internal coordination
