Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • An Associate’s degree in Pre-Engineering or HVAC Technology, or an equivalent track of hands-on HVAC industry experience, will also be highly valued and considered.
  • Proven ability to adopt, follow, and execute established sales guidelines, territory strategies, and corporate procedures.
  • Strong analytical capability to use logic and reasoning to evaluate complex mechanical systems, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or engineering approaches.
  • Ability to diagnose customer pain points and develop technical, value-driven solutions for engineers, contractors, and facility managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical work, manage a diverse workload, and consistently meet deadlines with minimal direct supervision.
  • Exceptional multitasking and time-management skills, paired with a sharp attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and professional articulation.
  • Must be capable of working independently in the field while maintaining seamless communication and coordination with internal team members, customers, and manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing customer relationships and develop new opportunities through best-in-class service and support.
  • Continuously meet with and educate engineers, contractors, and owners/end users on solutions offered by Bluefield.
  • Strategically manage the assigned territory by traveling consistently to build deep relationships with consulting mechanical engineers, controls contractors, and facility managers, proactively driving specifications and brand preference for Bluefield represented product lines.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between manufacturing partners and local industry stakeholders.
  • Conduct high-impact technical product presentations, "Lunch-and-Learns," and formal training sessions to educate the market on product features and applications.
  • Collaborate with the internal leadership team to establish and execute a recurring schedule and strategic timeline for effective territory coverage, account management, and market growth.
  • Attend manufacturer factory training, industry events, and trade shows to maintain an elite level of product knowledge and industry visibility.
  • Analyze construction documents, blueprints, and engineering specifications to identify opportunities for product inclusion, value engineering, or strategic substitutions.
  • Respond to RFQs/RFPs by evaluating complex or non-standard applications and providing accurate, engineering-backed technical recommendations.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance as needed to contractors during the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases of precision instrumentation and control devices.
  • Participate actively in project design meetings, job-site walks, and coordination discussions alongside engineers and contractors.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the inside sales team, providing accurate take-offs, equipment selections, and technical data needed to build competitive proposals.
  • Prepare accurate submittal packages, equipment selections, and supporting technical documentation required for formal project bidding.
  • Track and document all project activities, client touchpoints, and sales opportunities within the company CRM to ensure accurate forecasting and team alignment.
