About The Position

Purple is seeking a creative, driven, and versatile Sales Enablement Manager to join their Wholesale team. This role focuses on designing and executing learning programs, launch enablement, field communications, incentive support, and culture/recognition programs to keep sales teams informed, motivated, and equipped. The manager will partner with various departments to translate business goals into content strategies and tools for both retail associates and internal wholesale teams. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong critical thinking, time management, creativity, writing, and technical skills, with an emphasis on being a strong writer, content creator, visual designer, problem-solver, and self-directed worker.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Marketing, English, Education, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales enablement, instructional design, training content development, or field communications, preferably in a B2B, wholesale, or product-driven retail environment.
  • Strong writing and content creation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently produce polished field communications, training materials, program launches, and event content.
  • Proven ability to translate complex product information into engaging, accessible training content.
  • Solid understanding of the retail sales cycle, especially for high-consideration items.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles.
  • Experience with tools like Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience managing LMS platforms and/or sales enablement tools (Bridge, Salesforce, Highspot, or similar).
  • Comfortable with platform governance and content hygiene.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who operates with minimal direction and shifts priorities quickly.
  • High proficiency in office software, including MS Office, G-Suite, and project management tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the sleep, home goods, furniture, or consumer products industry.
  • Familiarity with sleep science, mattress construction, or related terminology.
  • Familiarity with wholesale/retail channel dynamics and multi-account environments.
  • Experience designing mobile-first or microlearning content.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or CRM/reporting tools.
  • Background in culture-building, recognition programs, or internal brand communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop retail- and wholesale-focused training content, including product knowledge guides, sales technique modules, eLearning, videos, and quick-reference tools.
  • Simplify complex technical product information into easy-to-understand content for frontline associates and customers.
  • Own, maintain, and govern the training content ecosystem across platforms like Bridge, PurplePedia, LMS, and the Grid Institute training library.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create effective training.
  • Partner with the Visual Brand Manager on polished, on-brand assets.
  • Develop and refresh competency-building content in collaboration with the HRBP.
  • Design content accessible across various platforms (LMS, mobile, kiosks) and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Lead enablement execution for product launches, trade shows, and major account initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a library of field enablement tools such as sell sheets, objection-handling guides, FAQs, and competitive tools.
  • Translate launch priorities and selling strategies into clear, field-ready content, supporting seasonal promotions.
  • Execute the wholesale communications calendar, including drafting, scheduling, and distributing field communications.
  • Develop content for leadership forums, regional cascades, and the National Sales Meeting.
  • Maintain communication standards for the field, ensuring consistent voice, timely delivery, and clear calls to action.
  • Coordinate and execute wholesale culture and recognition programs (e.g., Club Purple, contests).
  • Develop content and communications to celebrate team wins and highlight top performers.
  • Track program participation and field sentiment, sharing insights to evolve culture initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations.
  • Represent the wholesale enablement function in cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Manage a variety of special projects with a high degree of autonomy.
