Sales Enablement Lead

Buildkite
$150,000 - $165,000Remote

About The Position

Buildkite is seeking a Sales Enablement Lead to spearhead the development, equipping, and scaling of its go-to-market team. This senior individual contributor role involves defining the enablement strategy, constructing the underlying systems and content, and operating autonomously across Sales, Marketing, and Product to enhance seller ramp-up, sales effectiveness, and win rates. The position reports directly to the CRO and is responsible for owning the enablement function, designing scalable systems, and linking enablement programs to pipeline and revenue. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building enablement or GTM systems, demonstrating measurable revenue outcomes, and possessing the judgment to navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in sales enablement, sales training, or a senior GTM role within B2B SaaS or technical software.
  • Proven experience owning enablement strategy or systems end-to-end.
  • Demonstrated ability to design enablement as scalable systems, including content architecture, tooling, and operating rhythms.
  • Ability to take a messy, cross-functional problem and drive it to a reliable outcome with minimal oversight, setting own priorities against business goals.
  • Proven ability to connect enablement to revenue, measure key metrics, and avoid vanity metrics, with demonstrable impact on numbers.
  • Experience building trust quickly with Sales leadership and senior stakeholders, and influencing others through clarity.
  • Facilitation, crisp content writing, and audience adaptation skills.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and raising the standard for enablement capabilities within a team.
  • A proactive approach to seeking feedback, challenging the status quo with curiosity, and improving work quality.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enablement strategy end-to-end and align it to Buildkite's revenue goals and GTM priorities.
  • Decide what enablement initiatives to build, retire, and focus on, utilizing pipeline data, field insights, and close collaboration with Sales leadership.
  • Anticipate future GTM team needs as Buildkite scales, proactively addressing them rather than reacting to requests.
  • Bring clarity to ambiguous, cross-functional problems and translate them into programs that achieve high adoption rates.
  • Design and own a scalable enablement system encompassing onboarding, ongoing skills development, content architecture, and tooling to support team growth.
  • Build and maintain a content and playbook library that stays current with product positioning and the competitive landscape, ensuring easy accessibility for sellers.
  • Create an operating rhythm (certification, reinforcement, measurement) to foster lasting behavior change from training initiatives.
  • Improve GTM team systems and tools to reduce friction and manual effort.
  • Own enablement outcomes and connect program activity to ramp time, seller performance, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Lead the end-to-end enablement rollout for new products, messaging, and GTM motions, coordinating across functions.
  • Define and measure seller capability standards at each stage of the sales cycle.
  • Balance speed, quality, and impact in delivering enablement solutions, ensuring immediate usefulness while building for the long term.
  • Set the standard for enablement craft at Buildkite and role model it through personal work.
  • Coach and upskill Account Executives, and share expertise with Sales managers to ensure good practices are sustained.
  • Provide feedback from the field to Marketing, Product, and Brand to influence external positioning and development.
  • Contribute to a psychologically safe, inclusive culture that encourages feedback and experimentation.
