As the Sales Effectiveness Lead for the new Sales Academy at Interstate Batteries, you’ll need to be an experienced, excellence-obsessed and driven sales coach and training professional. This role will be responsible for improving productivity of our Interstate Batteries Local Sales team from the initial onboarding through to continuous “always-boarding” across our portfolio of offerings, solutions and coaching framework. You will help deliver a world-class continuous learning and development program for our fast-growing sales organization. You will be a member of a team that will create and provide impactful, engaging and memorable training programs that ultimately result in high sales productivity. This position requires constant and tight collaboration with the broader Sales Center of Excellence team, Sales Leadership, Sales Enablement, Marketing, Distribution, and other vital functions in the organization. You will serve as a consultant to field leadership to gather best practices from top performers ensuring the field sales organization is well-equipped with the content, training, knowledge of available resources, and core curriculum necessary to effectively coach sales teams to success in an environment of fast paced change at Interstate Batteries. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the development of our sales team. The ideal candidate is empathetic, energetic, driven, and a self-starter with previous experience in sales and sales training. This is a role central to our sales growth and effectiveness in our local sales markets. The ideal candidate will have first-hand experience both teaching and creating content, as well as assembling the supporting assets that moves the needle on how the Sales team will exceed goals and objectives. Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Field Sales or Sales Management experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of developing and facilitating various sales curriculum and coaching programs with increasing influence and responsibility.
  • Strategic thinker that can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions, and measurable metrics and then execute those plans.
  • Experience in developing and managing Sales competency models and Learning paths for sales roles.
  • Experience with Salesforce and sales enablement platforms.
  • Strong understanding of sales process and its value to a selling organization
  • Very strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills
  • Understanding of learning metrics and measurement
  • Knowledge of training principles and techniques; such as adult learning principles, instructional methodology, train the trainer, blended learning, and e-learning
  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity- dealing with issues/areas that do not always have a process or a system in place.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, development, management, and successful execution of the cross-functional sales effectiveness training and coaching programs in conjunction with the Sales Academy leader, Sales Center of Excellence and other cross-functional departments.
  • Plan and participate in but not limited to: new rep training and on-boarding, weekly sales training, coaching for both field sales teams and sales leadership, sales skills and tools training.
  • Assist in the development of the master plan and calendar for Sales Academy activities throughout the year.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of training and coaching investments.
  • Review and manage the existing content library to determine opportunities to improve the learning experience, ensure the content is current and relevant and best technology is employed.
  • Delivery and training of effective sales playbooks by in tight collaboration with broader Sales Center of Excellence team
  • Collaborating with broader Sales Center of Excellence team for playbook updates as needed based on feedback from the field and shifting market demands.
  • Facilitation of a first-line managers’ development program to ensure they have the skills, knowledge, processes and tools required to develop, mentor, coach and lead their sales teams effectively.
  • Coach and communicate with field sales leaders to ensure that they are effectively supporting sales training to deliver results today and develop staff for future roles within the company.
  • 20-40% travel
