Sales Director

Contigo CateringAustin, TX
$90,000 - $110,000Hybrid

About The Position

Contigo Catering is seeking a Sales Director to drive revenue growth across its four brands: Contigo Catering, Table Manners, Ocaso Catering, and One Eleven East. This role reports to the VP of Operations and collaborates closely with the CEO. The Sales Director will lead a team of six salespeople, manage the sales pipeline, foster team energy, and be responsible for closing key deals. This is a hands-on role that requires active selling, pitching, and client interaction, not just management. The company is an established luxury catering and events company with approximately $8 million in annual revenue, aiming for significant growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a sales pipeline and a sales team.
  • Proven track record of personally closing significant revenue and hitting team-level targets.
  • Experience building sales infrastructure, including CRM implementations, reporting cadences, commission structures, and sales playbooks.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, P&L visibility, and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require.
  • Reliable transportation and regular travel across Austin, Westlake, Dripping Springs, and occasionally beyond.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality, catering, events, or a related premium-service industry.
  • Comfort with sales technology; experience with Total Party Planner, Elecate, Tripleseat, HoneyBook, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Stay personally active in the pipeline, owning a book of high-value accounts and key relationships.
  • Lead pitches, tastings, and walkthroughs on top-tier opportunities.
  • Build and own relationships with key planners, venues, and corporate decision-makers across Austin.
  • Step in on stuck deals to unlock them, coaching in the moment and modeling the close.
  • Set and execute the annual sales strategy across all four brands, in collaboration with the CEO and VP of Operations.
  • Own and grow an $8M+ revenue target, hitting and accurately forecasting it.
  • Drive the pipeline across the team, coaching outreach, sharpening pitches, and holding the team accountable to numbers.
  • Approve pricing, contracts, and proposals above defined thresholds, upholding brand-aligned standards.
  • Identify need periods and slow weeks, building promotions, activations, and outreach plays to fill them.
  • Review sales commissions and approve payouts in line with the compensation framework.
  • Manage six sales team members directly, with four to five executive assistants supporting them.
  • Run weekly sales meetings per brand: pipeline review, deal strategy, blockers, and accountability on outreach commitments.
  • Coach individually, ensuring every salesperson has a development plan, clear KPIs, and a path to growth.
  • Hold the team accountable to activity, follow-up, and results.
  • Hire, develop, and manage out team members as necessary, building a bench.
  • Translate vision into clear, actionable priorities for the team.
  • Lead the transition from Total Party Planner to Elecate and build out the CRM infrastructure.
  • Build a clean, brief reporting rhythm focused on key metrics: pipeline value, conversion rates, average deal size, win rate by source, sales cycle length, revenue per rep.
  • Maintain the cross-brand relationship tracker and ensure key client and partner relationships are managed.
  • Identify high-value target accounts, planners, venues, and corporate clients, and build the outreach plan to land them.
  • Represent Contigo at industry events, planner happy hours, venue open houses, and trade events.
  • Manage and grow key planner and venue referral partnerships.
  • Oversee tastings, site visits, and client entertainment for top-tier opportunities.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations on planning, execution, and team alignment.
  • Partner with the CEO on big-account strategy, brand direction, and high-stakes deals.
  • Partner with Marketing to align outreach campaigns, brand positioning, and lead generation.
  • Partner with Operations and Culinary to ensure sales alignment with delivery capabilities and culinary innovation.

Benefits

  • Health and dental insurance.
  • Unlimited PTO plus paid holidays.
  • Office closure for 2+ weeks over winter holidays and a full week in July.
  • Mileage and parking reimbursement.
  • Company bonuses and swag.
