About The Position
The SALES DIRECTOR is an individual contributor role with the sole focus of creating and closing sales opportunities for all product solutions. Solutions include fully automated storage solutions such as pallet shuttles and ancillary systems like conveyors and lifts. Customers are located throughout the United States and Canada, and the company partners with many leading integrators. Typical project sizes range from $1M to $30M.
Requirements
- Several years of sales experience in the material handling industry, ideally for a manufacturer selling to integrators or selling as the integrator to the end customer.
- Must have a hunter and farmer mindset.
- Must live in vicinity to a major airport.
- Willing to travel around 50% throughout the US and Canada, plus occasionally to training events or reference site visits in Europe.
- Ability to connect with European colleagues during their business hours, which overlap with early morning CST hours.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the complete chain of sales activities, including proposals, calculations, and offers (with assistance from the sales engineering team).
- Initiate sales opportunities with warehouse automation integrators on behalf of end customers.
- Find new integrators to partner with.
- Participate in trade shows (Modex/Promat, and industry-specific ones).
- Lead and coordinate focused marketing efforts, such as writing blog posts and speaking at trade shows.
- Provide monthly and yearly forecasts and reports.
- Support on the sidelines of sold projects, such as handling change orders.
