About The Position

We are seeking a high-velocity Sales Director to lead our Mid-Market and Commercial sales teams at Placer.ai. This role is responsible for driving revenue within the Retail and Restaurant vertical, specifically focusing on brands with 30–99 locations. You will lead a team of Account Executives to help growing brands leverage location intelligence for site selection, competitive benchmarking, and marketing optimization.

Requirements

  • Proven Leader: 8+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with 3+ years specifically in sales management.
  • Vertical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Retail and Restaurant landscape. You understand the challenges of scaling a brand from 30 to 100 locations.
  • Sales Architect: You are obsessed with the sales process and methodology. You don't just know MEDDICC; you live it.
  • Analytical Thinker: You can translate complex foot-traffic data into simple, compelling business cases that resonate with CFOs and VPs of Real Estate.
  • Adaptable: You thrive in the fast-moving environment of a high-growth tech company and can pivot strategies as the market evolves.
  • Consistent track record of leading teams to 100%+ quota attainment.
  • Experience in Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), Analytics, or MarTech.
  • Expert proficiency in Salesforce and Gong.
  • Travel is required approximately 20% of the time for conferences and major industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Hire, coach, and scale a team of 6–8 AEs. You are responsible for building a culture of high performance, curiosity, and radical ownership.
  • Revenue Execution: Own the segment's quota. You will manage the full funnel, from top-of-funnel pipeline generation to closing high-value Mid-Market contracts.
  • Mastering MEDDICC: You will be the primary coach for your team’s sales execution. You must ensure every deal is pressure-tested against MEDDICC (Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, Champion).
  • Deal Strategy: Actively participate in the sales cycle. You’ll join key discovery calls and demos, helping your team quantify the ROI of Placer.ai’s data for brands in the 30-99 location "sweet spot."
  • Forecasting Accuracy: Use Gong Forecasting to provide the RVP with a weekly, signal-based forecast. You prioritize data over "gut feel" when calling your number.
  • Cross-Functional Partner: Work closely with the RVP and Marketing to refine the Mid-Market "Playbook," ensuring we are targeting the right brands with the right industry-specific insights.
