About The Position

As a Sales Director, you will be leading a high-performing team of Account Executives focused on growing our large group benefits business in the British Columbia market. This position will be located in Vancouver. You will work closely with your Account Executive on day-to-day concerns, including handling escalated issues and managing relationships with business partners both internally and externally. You will collaborate with regional service counterparts to ensure customer needs are exceeded, and achieve business objectives and execute quarterly regional business plans as rolled out by the Regional Vice President. You will provide leadership and coaching to your sales team to drive performance and achieve business objectives, while maintaining and strengthening relationships with advisors and customers to achieve annual sales, persistency, and other targets. You will manage the sales process from request for proposal to finalist presentation to implementation, and work closely with advisors, customers, and client relationship staff to ensure customer satisfaction through our new business implementation process and ongoing account management. You will promote additional products and services with advisors, customers, and regional service counterpart(s) to enhance client retention, and maintain a small caseload of large or complex clients, as necessary, to support their unique sales needs. You will also collaborate with head office partners for various initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the British Columbia Group Insurance business, specifically with large businesses.
  • Post secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent relationship management and business development skills
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Understand the business environment and advisor/customer needs to create competitive advantage
  • Strong understanding of the funding options available in the group benefits space
  • Create alignment on opportunities to drive sales results and ensure retention of clients
  • Work to ensure resources are deployed effectively to meet customer needs, and balance peaks and valleys in workload
  • Build partnerships to seek opportunity for cross selling with advisors and customers
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services by sharing ideas and concepts with Regional Vice President, Regional Service Leaders and head office
  • Foster an environment of innovation and is open to the perspectives and ideas of others
