About The Position

The Demand Forecasting & Analytics Manager develops multivariate monthly demand forecasts and delivers analytical insights supporting the generic injectable portfolio. This hands-on role builds and maintains Power BI dashboards, advanced Excel models, SQL queries, and automated Alteryx workflows. The role partners with Supply Chain, Sales, Commercial Operations, Contracting, Finance, and IT to align forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, and support data-driven business decisions. The position develops rolling monthly forecasts using multiple business drivers, reconciles statistical forecasts with commercial input, assesses forecast accuracy and bias, and explains forecast changes and scenarios to Supply Chain and leadership. It analyzes manufacturer shipments, wholesaler inventory and movements, and downstream customer activity where available, taking care not to double-count channel movements or mistake supply-constrained shipments for underlying demand. The role also creates and maintains reporting dashboards, advanced Excel models, and automated data workflows. It validates data and report results, troubleshoots refreshes and workflow failures, documents processes, and improves reporting accuracy, timeliness, and consistency. The position leads cross-functional forecasting and analytics initiatives and translates business requirements into reliable dashboards, repeatable analytical processes, and actionable alerts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in demand planning, forecasting, or business analytics, including at least three years developing monthly forecasts using multiple demand drivers.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and complex Excel models, including data connections, model relationships, scheduled refreshes, and report validation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL queries and joins, relational data concepts, and DAX measures used in business reporting.
  • Hands-on experience developing automated data-preparation workflows.
  • Understanding of multivariate forecasting, seasonality, model validation, forecast accuracy, bias, and the effect of supply constraints on observed demand.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer shipments, wholesaler inventory and downstream activity, and customer demand without double-counting channel movements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, lookups, SUMIFS, PivotTables, charts, and Power Query.
  • Practical knowledge of Power BI data modeling, DAX, gateways, cloud connections, and refresh troubleshooting.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into reliable dashboards, repeatable analytical processes, and actionable alerts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with attention to data accuracy and documentation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and lead cross-functional forecasting and analytics initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Statistics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience with scheduled workflows.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical distribution and wholesaler/customer demand data.
  • Generic injectable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards covering demand, shipments, forecast accuracy, inventory, and customer performance.
  • Connect Power BI to databases, on-premises sources through data gateways, and cloud data sources; configure and maintain connections and scheduled refreshes in partnership with IT.
  • Monitor report refresh performance and troubleshoot connection, credential, gateway, and data quality issues.
  • Use SQL to query, filter, aggregate, and join source datasets; prepare data with Power Query and manage model relationships, cardinality, and filter direction.
  • Use DAX to create measures and calculated columns for KPIs, forecast variances, trends, and time-based comparisons; document KPI definitions, validate results, and manage access with business owners and IT.
  • Develop and maintain rolling monthly forecasts using multivariate methods, including multiple regression and time-series models with multiple business drivers.
  • Incorporate historical shipments, customer ordering trends, seasonality, contract changes, customer commitments, wholesaler inventory, competitive supply disruptions, and product launches into forecast assumptions.
  • Account for backorders, allocations, stockouts, and supply interruptions so constrained shipments do not understate underlying demand.
  • Lead monthly forecast reviews, reconcile statistical forecasts with commercial input, and communicate changes and scenarios to Supply Chain and leadership.
  • Measure forecast accuracy and bias at appropriate product and customer levels, use volume-weighted error measures, and apply backtesting and variance analysis to improve model performance.
  • Analyze direct outbound shipments alongside wholesaler purchases, inventory movements, and downstream customer shipments or indirect sales data where available.
  • Identify stocking changes, order timing shifts, demand spikes, customer gains or losses, and potential supply gaps that affect monthly forecasts.
  • Reconcile product/NDC and customer identifiers, units of measure, and reporting periods across data sources; prevent duplicate counting of shipments through the distribution channel.
  • Explain forecast changes and recommend actions to support inventory planning, customer service, and commercial decisions.
  • Build and maintain complex Excel workbooks, forecasting models, scenario analyses, and interactive dashboards using advanced formulas, PivotTables, charts, and Power Query.
  • Design reusable Excel templates with clear assumptions, input controls, and validation checks for monthly planning and ad hoc analysis.
  • Create and maintain Alteryx workflows to extract, cleanse, transform, join, and validate data from multiple sources for forecasting and reporting.
  • Automate recurring data flows and alerts for forecast deviations, unusual demand, inventory exceptions, data quality failures, and workflow errors.
  • Schedule and monitor workflows through available Alteryx Server or scheduling capabilities; troubleshoot failures and document dependencies and recovery procedures.
  • Reduce manual reporting effort while improving data accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Lead cross-functional forecasting and analytics initiatives and manage competing priorities while working independently.

Benefits

  • Short-term incentive opportunity, such as a bonus or performance-based award, within the first 12 months.
  • Comprehensive, flexible benefits program for eligible positions, with plan and coverage choices.
  • Health and insurance benefits.
  • 401(k) matching contribution.
