About The Position

Sonesta Inn – Baton Rouge is looking for a motivated and organized Sales Coordinator to support hotel sales efforts while providing hands-on leadership for the property's front office operation. This hourly role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, supporting revenue-generating activities, and leading a guest-facing team. The successful candidate will work closely with hotel leadership to support sales initiatives, coordinate group business, maintain accurate reporting, and help ensure the front desk delivers a professional and welcoming guest experience. The Sales Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the hotel's sales efforts while supervising day-to-day front office activities. The position is responsible for supporting sales activities, maintaining accurate sales and operational records, assisting with group business, and providing direction and support to front desk team members. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in hotel hospitality, front office, sales, customer service, or administrative support preferred
  • Previous hotel front office or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to confidently interact with guests, clients, vendors, and hotel team members
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and navigate hotel property management and sales systems
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
  • Willingness to work a flexible hospitality schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

You may spend part of your day following up with a group client, preparing a sales report, or coordinating a site visit—and another part coaching a front desk associate, assisting a guest, or helping resolve an operational issue. Responsibilities

  • Support group and transient sales efforts by assisting with proposals, contracts, client follow-ups, and sales correspondence
  • Respond to sales inquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
  • Coordinate client meetings, hotel site visits, sales appointments, and sales calendars
  • Assist with group bookings, room blocks, pickup tracking, and group arrival preparations
  • Maintain accurate sales records, client information, and activity tracking in hotel systems and spreadsheets
  • Assist with tracking group pace, room blocks, pickup reports, and other sales metrics
  • Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and market activity and communicate relevant information to hotel leadership
  • Assist with preparing basic sales and performance reports, including STR and internal hotel reports
  • Support hotel marketing initiatives, including promotional materials, online listings, and local sales efforts
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, local businesses, and community partners
  • Communicate group and sales-related information to front office, housekeeping, and other hotel departments to ensure operational readiness
  • Supervise and support front desk team members during assigned shifts
  • Provide direction, coaching, and assistance to front desk associates to ensure consistent guest service
  • Help ensure proper completion of check-in, check-out, reservations, payments, guest requests, and other front office procedures
  • Monitor front desk operations and address guest concerns or service issues professionally and promptly
  • Assist with resolving reservation discrepancies, billing concerns, room assignments, and other guest issues
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, shift reports, deposits, and other front office financial procedures
  • Review and communicate important shift information, arrivals, departures, groups, VIPs, and special requests
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance regarding room status, guest requests, and operational issues
  • Assist with training and onboarding new front desk team members
  • Help maintain front desk standards, appearance, cleanliness, and organization
  • Support hotel leadership with operational projects and other duties as assigned
  • Serve as a leadership presence at the front desk and assist with hotel operations when management is not immediately available
