About The Position

This is an intermediate customer support role that interacts daily with sales and/or long-term and potential new customers. The candidate will collaborate with a team of sales professionals and support a larger sales team in a specific Wood Products business. The role requires product knowledge and broad knowledge of customers, company procedures, products, pricing, and services, and the ability to assist with most to all order entry. The position works with the Customer Service team to ensure high-quality customer service and support. This is a sales position that will primarily support the Tennessee market from the Gallatin Distribution Center.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills including written and verbal (face to face and over the phone)
  • Working knowledge of SAP, ASCEND and other customer services tools and enterprise systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency including Office, Excel, Word, and Web-based programs.
  • Track record of actively seeking out and using technology to help solve problems and gain efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated competency and knowledge of products, pricing and customers.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work in a highly organized manner.
  • Proven accuracy/attention to detail with data and information.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and data driven decision making
  • Minimum HS Diploma/GED
  • 3-5 years building products or industry experience in customer service related field OR 1+ years of successful experience in WY

Responsibilities

  • Enters orders or assists individual sellers in order file management by ensuring orders are received, priced accurately, shipped and invoiced in an accurate and timely manner using sales tools/SAP effectively.
  • Acts as point of contact for customers, taking ownership of interactions.
  • Troubleshoots simple to complex customer orders and problems, escalating situations appropriately and needing guidance with only the more complex or unique issues.
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner with very few errors.
  • Effectively submits new customer requests through SAP transaction (MDG).
  • Uses broad knowledge of customers, procedures, products, and services, demonstrating competency in these areas to build rapport, provide customer service and meet customer needs.
  • Understands the importance/effectiveness of prompt turnaround of all/any customer needs.
  • Develops basic knowledge, relationships and position of influence to proactively promote full range of products to established and prospective customers.
  • Executes promotions, specials, market pull through activities, and updates to products/pricing/service.
  • Collaborates to build and maintain strong relationships with peers, coworkers, internal/external customers, and broader team members and resources.
  • Coaches less experienced team members and may assist in some training.
