About The Position

The Sales Coordinator in the Special Sales department works with and provides support to the Specialty Retail Sales team, which includes the Director and three Account Managers. Tasks include general administrative assistance and daily sales operations including: processing purchase orders and work orders; coordinating purchase orders for accounts with the work order warehouse teams and communicating with buyers regarding these orders; preparing seasonal and ad hoc digital catalogs and compelling sales presentations for accounts; coordinating sample orders or digital material requests from buyers; communicating with accounts/buyers regarding out of stock notices and reprint information; completing new item setup sheets for accounts; working closely with publishers to coordinate custom book products for accounts; processing quote requests, deal memos, and bind orders for custom orders.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong operational skills with expertise in Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong work ethic
  • Ability to effectively communicate with accounts and all levels of management
  • A general interest in books and reading as well as general knowledge of specialty retail stores and a keen interest in helping the team grow sales
  • Problem-solver, team player and someone that takes initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 1-2 years book publishing experience is highly preferred
