Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, legal studies, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in contract management, commercial operations, sales support, or related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial contracts and legal concepts (e.g., liability, indemnification, confidentiality, warranties, payment terms, insurance)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (such as Legal, Sales, Finance, HR, Proposals and Operations teams) balancing multiple perspectives to reach alignment
  • Effective communication skills with the capability to translate technical or contractual language into clear, actionable guidance 
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and recommend practical commercial solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities at once

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting enterprise or complex sales environments
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems 
  • Experience working in a matrix organization

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial terms and conditions for proposals, project contracts, software agreements, frame agreements, and service offerings within the Power & Water Solutions portfolio.
  • Evaluate customer specifications and identify commercial risks and opportunities unique to utility, energy, and critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Ensure contracts comply with Emerson policies, trade compliance standards, cybersecurity requirements, and industry regulations associated with power and water operations.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Project Management teams to develop negotiation strategies that support competitive bids while protecting Emerson’s technical and commercial interests.
  • Facilitate cross-functional reviews for non-standard terms and ensure alignment on scope, delivery commitments, cost implications, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation, key terms, and approvals within contract lifecycle management tools, supporting visibility and compliance across PWS.
  • Support contract performance throughout the project lifecycle, including change management, milestone tracking, close-out documentation, and contract amendments.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PWS-specific contract templates, playbooks, and best practices.
  • Provide training, guidance, and coaching to commercial and project teams to strengthen contractual understanding and improve overall deal execution.
