About The Position

As a Sales Consultant at AssetMark, the leading provider of investment solutions for independent financial planners, you will partner with a senior sales team member to drive product sales and strategic initiatives. Your primary focus will be on building and nurturing strong relationships with Investment Advisors to support their success and growth. In this role, you will apply sales training to prospect for new opportunities, identify advisor needs, and increase production. Additionally, you will manage and fulfill sales material requests, utilize sales software to illustrate product performance, and provide point-of-sale consultation on product details, fund performance, fund holdings, and investment allocation. You will also assist advisors with basic service inquiries, support territory growth, and provide coverage for team members as needed. The total compensation for this role includes base plus a competitive sales incentive plan target as detailed below.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently
  • Proven experience utilizing Salesforce or similar CRM tools to effectively manage territory and pipeline
  • Experience evaluating managed money platforms
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance field
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Active FINRA licenses: Series 6, 63, and 65 and/or Series 7 and 66 are required
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive and continuous outreach to prospective clients through cold calling utilizing focused lead lists (Salesforce, Discovery Database, Advisors-in-motion reports, marketing campaign leads, etc.) while maintaining a sales pipeline
  • Identify individual objectives, circumstances, and needs of the advisor’s business, and their client base to assist them in evaluating potential solutions
  • Educate, influence, and persuade advisors on the key benefits of various platform offerings considering their business needs
  • Proactively communicate with advisors and ask insightful questions to identify additional needs and highlight expanded partnership opportunities
  • Keep up to date with relevant investment information, including platform updates, marketing materials, operational changes, industry news, and market events
