About The Position

Johnson Brothers, a leading family-owned distributor of wine, spirits, and beer since 1953, is seeking a Sales Consultant for its Oxford Street Merchants division. This role services a large Northern Minnesota territory, including Duluth and surrounding outstate areas. The position requires extensive driving and supports both retail (off-premise) and on-premise accounts, offering a dynamic sales environment. We are looking for candidates with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Adult Beverage or Hospitality experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

BA/BS degree or relevant industry experience
Prior route sales experience (highly preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Results-driven with a goal-oriented mindset
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Reliable transportation and proof of insurance
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

Ensure consistent customer contact across assigned accounts.
Properly plan and execute sales initiatives.
Handle all customer-related issues in a prompt and friendly manner.
Maintain full understanding of products and pricing schedules.
Deliver effective sales presentations.
Achieve assigned company objectives and successfully grow business.
Identify and develop new account opportunities.
Utilize all available POS to enhance selling efforts.
Execute merchandising fundamentals including display placement, shelf positioning, cold box execution, and other in-store opportunities.
Follow established procedures during sales calls.
Perform accurate inventory checks and communicate effectively to minimize order errors.
Ensure proper product rotation across shelves, displays, and cold boxes.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
