About The Position

Octave is seeking a Senior Accountant to work closely with the Global Sales Team, providing accurate and timely sales compensation and bonus reporting and payment information. The role calculates, analyzes, and facilitates the accounting of variable compensation using Xactly Incent and Excel, while providing customer service to internal stakeholders and handling sensitive payment information with integrity. The position works under minimal supervision and allows a wide latitude for independent judgment.

Requirements

Five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Ability to work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
Integrity when handling sensitive payment information.

Nice To Haves

An Accounting degree is preferred.
Experience with Xactly Incent and Excel.

Responsibilities

Calculate and pay global sales commissions and bonuses accurately and on time.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations and provide supporting documentation for month-end close, including calculating, validating, and recording commission accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
Prepare and process monthly commission payments in coordination with global payroll administrators.
Understand transactional workflows and data sources, and ensure data integrity.
Participate in incentive compensation plan design with HR and the Sales organization.
Prepare requested audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Update and maintain accounting process documentation.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, and implement best practices.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Identify, document, and recommend process improvements to streamline commission-related processes and improve transparency and efficiency.
Provide customer service to internal stakeholders, including Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and HR.
