About The Position

The Sales Compensations and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the monthly sales compensation process. In addition, she/he will identify process improvements and develop recommendations for exception and adjustment processing. The role will independently represent the variable compensation team in project and business meetings.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 1 - 3+ Years of experience in sales analysis, financial reporting, or sales compensation that directly relates to the responsibilities for this position (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Executes monthly sales compensation processing, including data extraction, validation, reconciliation, payout calculation review, and issue resolution across incentive and bonus programs.
  • Calculates and processes variable incentive compensation, broker bonuses, and other sales payments in accordance with established compensation guardrails (e.g., floors, caps, guarantees, production bonuses).
  • Develops, validates, and prepares datasets used for payroll processing, leadership reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Extracts, integrates, and manages data from internal systems and platforms, including Incentive Compensation Management (ICM), sales reporting, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Collaborates with third‑party compensation vendors, Sales Operations, Distribution, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, alignment, and accurate compensation outcomes.
  • Researches, analyzes, and resolves sales commission issues; supports exception and adjustment processing by independently recommending corrective actions and consulting with management and cross‑functional partners as needed.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains recurring and ad hoc reports and analytics (e.g., sales compensation, production crediting, plan analysis, contests, quarterly and annual incentives) by region, territory, role, and other relevant dimensions.
  • Analyzes sales performance and program results to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed sales compensation plans, special programs, and metrics; provides leadership with actionable, quantitative insights.
  • Develops, maintains, and administers incentive compensation formulas, calculations, and related controls within databases and spreadsheets; ensures adherence to financial and accounting control standards.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with managers, leadership, and internal partners to explain compensation plans, financial implications, and analytical findings; represents the business area in projects and meetings.
  • Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of sales compensation processes and recommends enhancements to improve controls, streamline operations, and reduce cost while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
