About The Position

Rockingham Cooperative is seeking a part-time Sales/Cashier to join their team at the Elkton Farm location in Elkton, VA. This role is responsible for providing superior customer service, operating the cash register, and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner. The company has been in business since 1921 and is Virginia's oldest member-owned Cooperative, serving customers with retail farm and consumer products.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least two years of experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Proven ability to interact well with others and offer great customer service.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to perform climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling frequently.

Nice To Haves

Understand basic computer programs and learn systems.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide prompt and excellent service to all customers.
Operate the cash register and point of sale system.
Handle customer complaints effectively.
Answer telephones.
Keep the sales area stocked with merchandise, including pricing, dating, and displaying items.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the register area.
Assist in other areas as needed, which may include stocking, loading, and unloading merchandise, and keeping areas neat, clean, and orderly.
Attend store meetings and training sessions.
Gain new product knowledge by reading trade magazines and manufacturers' literature.
Perform other duties as assigned.
