About The Position

Stryker is a leading medical technology company dedicated to improving healthcare through innovative medical technologies, including reconstructive, medical and surgical, and neurotechnology and spine products. As a Sales Associate in the Sports Medicine specialty, you will be the primary representative for Stryker products, assisting Sales Representatives in their promotion and marketing efforts. This role involves educating doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel on the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products, product functionality, updates, and educational programs. You will be responsible for tailoring promotional messages based on customer knowledge, advising on appropriate product selection, answering customer questions about product functionality, and distinguishing Stryker products from those of competitors. The position offers autonomy to adjust your time to focus on what brings the most value to customers and the market, allowing you to represent a leading medical device brand and significantly impact patient care.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years in an outside sales position (medical related fields is preferable).
  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • Field sales training.
  • Successful completion of in-house product training program.
  • Confident communicator, able to command the direction of a sales conversation and persuade others.
  • Charismatic networker, proactively reaching out and engaging with internal and external contacts to build powerful relationships.
  • Strategic closer, assertive and focused on continuously exceeding quarterly sales quotas.
  • Trusted partner, serving as a subject matter expert for product knowledge and guidance.
  • Competitive achiever, persistent and results-driven to fulfill Stryker’s mission.
  • May be required to obtain the COVID-19 vaccination as an essential function of the role, depending on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Sales Representatives in the sales, promotion, and marketing of Stryker products.
  • Educate and inform doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel on the proper use and maintenance of Stryker products.
  • Provide information on product functionality, updates, changes to the product portfolio, and educational programs.
  • Tailor Stryker’s promotional message based upon knowledge of the customer.
  • Advise on appropriate product selection.
  • Answer customer questions about product functionality.
  • Distinguish Stryker products from those of Stryker’s competitors.
  • Communicate with large groups of people.
  • Communicate telephonically.
  • Use common office equipment (e.g. fax, modem, calculator, PC, etc.).
  • Routinely negotiate price and terms of transactions between Stryker and its customers.
  • Readily solve customer complaints and questions.
  • Command knowledge of all products, including functionality, features, and factors that differentiate Stryker products from its competitors’ products, and disseminate this knowledge to the customer.
  • Analyze territory market potential and prioritize call patterns accordingly.
