The District Sales Manager oversees a group of Territory Managers (TMs) in selling the Company's products and services, leveraging product, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying products and services to their needs, thereby generating revenue. This role involves directing TMs to close opportunities, penetrate existing accounts, and acquire and develop new accounts within a specified district. The manager provides coaching, mentoring, and training to TMs to achieve profitable sales and case growth objectives, leading them to meet Division sales, penetration, and churn reduction goals. Responsibilities include researching, developing, and maintaining sales plans, coaching TMs on action planning, and directing them towards high-quality leads and new account acquisition. The manager also administers the annual street sales operating plan and budget, approves related expenses, and tracks performance. They are expected to leverage various internal roles (Sales Coordinator, Restaurant Operations Consultant, Menu Analyst, Culinary Specialists, Customers Solutions Coordinator, Sr. Sales Analyst, New Business Manager) to enhance account penetration and new account growth. Other duties include coordinating product cuttings, developing sales and marketing strategies, conducting market research, communicating sales data, and planning district sales meetings. The manager utilizes Sales Foundations tools, recruits and mentors TMs, conducts field support sessions for development, assesses TM performance, and assists TMs with organizational skills and territory planning. They maintain knowledge of industry trends, establish industry contacts, evaluate product mix, develop potential customer lists, conduct Customer Business Reviews, and assist in customer/delivery alignment. The role also involves overseeing the communication and execution of Company policies within the sales department and ensuring appropriate staffing to minimize turnover.
