About The Position

This position reports directly to the Store Manager and is responsible for keeping the store clean, performing water testing, operating point-of-sale machines, assisting customers to ensure the best experience, and periodically cleaning, servicing, and chemically treating customer pools in accordance with maintenance contracts. On a daily basis our Sales Clerk: Greet and assist customers upon entering the store. Perform water testing for customers. Answer phones and report all stock/ supply shortages. Ensure store is always clean; straighten and dust shelves, keep displays and counter areas clean. Clean, service, and chemically treat pools using assigned pool cleaning equipment, chemicals, and an employer-provided pick-up truck. Follow up with customers to secure new maintenance accounts. Regularly inspect and maintain pool equipment and systems. Follow all safety standards and guidelines when working near and around swimming pools, including handling pool chemicals. Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
  • Retail and/or pool supply experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods, bend, stoop, stretch, and climb repetitively.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and near swimming pools.
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling pool equipment and chemicals as required.
  • Work weekends and some holidays.
