About The Position

Marimekko is seeking a full-time Sales Associate to join their North America Market team in the New York City Flagship store. The role involves driving brand awareness and positioning by engaging and inspiring fashion-focused consumers. The Sales Associate will work closely with the Flagship Store Manager and other Sales Associates. This is a full-time position, 32-35 hours per week, reporting to the Flagship Store Manager and based in New York City.

Requirements

  • Work experience in customer service and retail sales
  • Interest in art, architecture, design, and fashion
  • Ability to be a Marimekko Brand Ambassador in actions, attitude, and appearance
  • Proactive and hands-on
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Able to work flexible work hours (including evenings, nights, and weekends sometimes)
  • Able to lift at least 15 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Execute store operations, including sales fundamentals (e.g., strive for sales excellence and results, work with customers and model excellent customer service, cultivate and steward clients).
  • Execute operational excellence (e.g., acting as keyholder with opening and closing procedures, control and maintain all assets in accordance with the company handbook and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures).
  • Execute store standards and visual merchandising (e.g., execute floor moves, visual directives, and merchandising guidelines and ensure store is always clean, neat, organized, and well-maintained).
  • Help promote community-building and brand awareness efforts, including executing Marimekko’s retail store brand activities and execution according to the global and local plan.
  • Create and foster exceptional customer experience.
  • Execute brand activities and events together with our Flagship Store Manager.
  • Create awareness building opportunities through compelling outreach to customers to build a strong customer base.
  • Be a Marimekko Brand Ambassador: establish, nurture, and grow local consumer community through by new customer acquisition tactics to promote relationship building.
