About The Position

The Sales Associate assists the store management team with the overall operation and performance of the store, including sales, merchandising, and operations. The role supports animal well-being and contributes to store success by following operational standards, achieving sales goals, and helping ensure efficient daily operations. Sales Associates strive to enhance the lives of pets and their people by providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service and helping customers select appropriate food and accessories.

The position also involves maintaining a clean, organized, and safe sales floor; caring for animals in the store; restocking merchandise; and following company policies, procedures, and Brand Standards. Employees are expected to maintain a professional, positive attitude and work effectively both independently and as part of the store team.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
• Ability to perform physical duties requiring exertion and dexterity, including repeated lifting of up to 55 pounds during a shift.
• Active listening and observation skills when communicating with customers and employees and merchandising the store.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sales, service, and customer-experience initiatives by demonstrating the company’s selling and service models.
• Acknowledge, welcome, and thank customers in a friendly and timely manner.
• Help customers select products and answer questions to ensure they find suitable food and accessories for their pets.
• Follow Brand Standards to maintain the store’s consistency and reputation.
• Work with the store team to meet or exceed targeted sales goals and daily sales goals.
• Clean pet enclosures and ensure animals have appropriate food and water.
• Support maintenance of the fish system.
• Restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures, and move products from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe shopping environment and a high standard of customer readiness.
• Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when communicating with customers and employees.
• Follow company policies and procedures communicated by the Sunrise Support Office.
• Complete other tasks and duties assigned by store management.
